Commentary: SBC/CUSA Merger?
I'm still not sure I want to give up our eastern SBC schools just to get with UNT and UTEP for example.

I'd have to be convinced.

RE: Commentary: SBC/CUSA Merger?
Giving up App State (around 650 miles away) and GaSo in exchange for UNT and UTEP (around 1100 miles away, geographic outlier) is a step down in Football . . does not sound like a great idea to me. 05-mafia

RE: Commentary: SBC/CUSA Merger?
Why?
Because the CUSA teams found out what most of us believed to be true?
What benefit would it be for us? More $$? More exposure? Not sure it's worth it.

These ideas are still rearranging deck chairs...
Would it be worth $2 million to move?

No matter how you repackage it, the product is still the same.

RE: Commentary: SBC/CUSA Merger?
Are there be any schools that the SBC should try to take from CUSA?

We're going to be at a point, in 2018, where each team would get at least a $1 mil cfp payout because of the ccg deregulation. They're not trying to go past 10 teams...not really. No disrespect to NMSU and Idaho...

If I were the King of the Belt, I'd highly considering adding two of any of these three from CUSA: USM, UAB, Marshall. The brands should easily increase the TV money and possibly increase bowl and CFP payouts per school to more than pay for their additions.

I like Marshall but it's a little bit far from schools like Texas St. USM would be ideal. Not sure how I feel about UAB. Rice would be a decent add.

UAB almost self-imposed the death penalty and is basically infected by a hostile virus.

I'll say once again that I like MTSU...they will give a boost to all 3 major sports and make a reasonable trip for many of the current SBC schools.

I like them too, plus it allows us into Tennessee for recruiting.

I'll pass. They chose CUSA, they can stay there.
