RE: cbssports pick AAC win total over/under
ucf did share a conference title 2 years ago, and holman their qb was on that team...
note that auburn went from 2-9 one year to a national championship the next year... that auburn switched from a prostyle to read-option uptempo offense ( an almost identical switch ucf is making)..and talent wise ucf is relatively equal to what auburn is to the SEC but to the AAC
My opinion, ucf isnt winning more than 7...but i honeslty wont be shocked to see them fall anywhere between 7win or 0 wins ..
i could say the same for ecu
honestly next year the order will be so unpredictable, i think most people feel comfortable saying houston wins 8-plus, and usf is atleast a bowl team..beyond that anyone can fall anywhere top to bottom
tulane is the only team that looks dreadful on paper, but their coach is willie firtz and in his almost 20 years of coaching he has never had a team with less than 5 wins
i could honestly make a legitimate argument as to why everyone is our league can win 7 or not be bowl eligible ..all our bad teams have a reason to be excited and most of our better teams now have big question marks going into the season...
as far as order its anyone's game next year

I agree with Pesik. UH, USF, and possibly Temple seem to be the best. Everybody else is a big question mark. But UCF shouldn't be projected to do the same or better than all of UC, Navy and Memphis. They may come close, and they may outdo one, but not 3. At least not on paper this year, before anybody plays a game.

The only prediction I have is, there's gonna be some pretty d@mn good football teams in the AAC this year (Memphis included), playing each other week end and week out. Gonna be fun watching and seeing what the outcome of these games are gonna be... Let's get it started.

RE: cbssports pick AAC win total over/under
Houston, 9.5 over/ Over
USF, 8.5 over/ Over
Temple, 8.5 over/ Over
Cincinnati, 6.5 under/ Over
Memphis, 6.5 under/ Under
Navy, 6.5 under/ Over
Tulsa, 6.5 over/ Over
ECU, 5.5 under/ Under
UCF, 5 over/ Dead Even
UConn, 5 under/ Over
SMU, 3.5, over/ Over
Tulane, 3.5 under/ Under
they give their reasoning in the article
[/quote]
My best guess.

Navy and Memphis I wouldn't be surprised at given Lynch is gone. Uc is a wild card as they are every year

We did it before. The talent was there. The coaching/injury/turnover situation was a cluster

Yes but more chances that not it doesn't happen. You have new coaches, new system. I think you guys will improve but winning 6 or more it's a big stretch

Maybe, but UCF is coming from 0-12. Navy is coming from 11-2, and Memphis 9-4 (and UC from 7-6). Memphis lost Fuente and Paxton, but not much else. Navy lost everybody on O except 1, but they have a plug and play system. UC should be better with Kiel here.
UCF is still young, and has a new staff. I expect they will improve, but not to the point of winning more than all 3 of those others. Nothing against UCF, I just don't see that big a swing for all 4. UCF may pass one, but I would be surprised, even at that.
Next year, yes. This year, not likely.

UCONN has three P-5's on their schedule. All beatable, but you understand the bias, right?

Well we have beaten USF 3 straight so his prediction isn't off base at all

Navy lost almost their entire team. They are undersized to begin with so I think they take a bigger step back than most. I haven't heard about anybody at Memphis that can perform at PL level. We will see. Our secondary should be solid so that should help if any of these juco edge rushers are back. We have one end that sat out last year and that hurt us. This will be set up similar to Houston as it is all about turnovers

Agreed. I think it's far fetched to hit 6. I hope I'm wrong.

No QB at PL level yet but pretty confident that Riley Furgeson will keep Memphis on the winning track with a strong supporting cast on offense and defense. We are likely 6 deep at RB and our secondary is definitly going to be improved with our returners and eligible transfers.
