NIU is a very good MAC football program who's stars all aligned for a short period of time to elevate the program to a great MAC football program. The nature of the fan base and athletic department's capabilities are what they are and more than likely will not deviate much from that.

The defeatism in this statement is depressing, and sadly, all too prevalent throughout our fan base.

Regardless of the rampant negativity towards those who have vision on this message board - I won't give up on my hope that NIU will join the major leagues one day and become a national power.

I agree with all you said about both QB's. After a little more thought on this topic, I concluded that FSU(who was stacked with talent on D) would have prepared for Harnish and presented a different approach than they did for Lynch. It's not really fair to just insert Harnish into that specific game and analyze it. Harnish may have done a little better, but all that focus on Lynch's running ability is what allowed the WR's the space they had. It's just a shame Lynch couldn't have the game of his life that night throwing the ball, because a few completions may have opened up the run for him.

RC said that at the Post-Spring Game dinner. Were you there?

Lack of a strong fan base and donor support. It has little to nothing to do with theteam on the field. If you truly believe that, then there is no hope for you. Sit back and enjoy it for once and watch more college football to see what bad football looks like.
