Did hit double digits, but from what I remember, smaller than last year.

Regarding a prior conversation on food, plenty of decent appetizers including wings and small burgers. It was definitely worth the $10 or even $20 if you didn't register early. (still more events next week)

General message from all coaches was being more successful on the field (winning more) and in the classroom.

Coach Carey really didn't say to much.

Question to AD Frazier on NIU and MAC goals. NIU is placing itself well for success. MAC is a conference we fit well with like minded goals.

Hoping for a large crowd at the Cell.

Hoping to have some announcements after a state budget is passed.

This is your big problem...

No, the state's budget thing is a drain on the university and, in turn athletics as it normally operates. Your real problem is a huge lack of supporters with deep pockets. The dollars just aren't out there now. Interest has slipped. Yes, the HAF had a great year but that goes to the day to day operation of the program. They've been looking for some big money since this thing was announced over two years ago and well before the budget problem.
Not to be a downer but this is how I see it.

I think you have a valid point. I thought a lot of the improvement $ was going to by outside sources? I think it may hinder the progress, but no more than not having the $ itself from the inner circle. I think the plans were scaled pretty high end. That normally occurs, then you can scale back. I think timing was bad and interest has subsided. Orange Bowl effect is gone, and the appeal to other conferences is dwindling. I think the plans were a major pitch to other conferences, anywhere from lateral to step up, AAC to B12.

I think it will get worse before better. But the next couple seasons for football and even basketball are very important.

I get the impression that we have a bunch of money lined up for upgrades, but just need to wait until the state budget situation gets cleared up.

Yeah I believe it's all set to go, just need the worst political state in the union to actually compromise on something......so what I'm saying is......it's gonna be a while.

If i were a betting man, which I'm not, I'd be willing to bet a sizeable amount of money that you're correct... and I'm not much of a gambler, so take that for what it's worth

I sure hope that money is earning interest until a budget is passed because it could be a very long time.

Basketball update...

MM said that AA was returning. I think I remember there was a rumor saying he was transferring out so I am not sure how far that went.
