Rice vs.. LSU (Tuesday Championship Game)-- Winner Advances to Supers
#LSU lineup vs. Rice

Duplantis (RF)
Fraley (CF)
Kramer (SS)
Bryce (DH)
Deichmann (1B)
Beau (LF)
Reid (3B)
Papierski C
Freeman (2B)

RS Freshman LHP Jake Latz is #LSU's starting pitcher this afternoon. Latz is a very seldom used, redshirt Freshman LHP...

4 app, 2 starts, 0-1, 5.1 IP, 3.38 ERA, .260 BAA, 2 BBs, 8 Ks

...He obviously has good stats, and not surprising they go with a lefty against our left-hand laden lineup, but he has far too few innings to really read anything into his stat line.

Rice Lineup:
Warren (RF)
Lewis (2B)
Proctor (SS)
Teykl (3B)
Gray (1B)
Chandler (CF)
DiCaprio (DH)
Wunderlich (LF)
Kopycinski

Starting Pitcher - Amador

Reading up on the pitcher, he had surgery on his elbow, and they are just now working him back in. Highly touted lefty that throws 90-92 with a power curve that he strikes people out with. Longest outing is 3 innings so far.

Some of Chuck Pool's pregame email update:
-------
Are you ready for a Game Seven?

It’s the hallmark of playoffs at every level and tonight the Owls and LSU will face off with a berth in the Super Regionals on the line. This will be the last game of the opening round of the NCAA tournament with the 16th and final spot in the Super Regional Round to the winner. If the Owls win, we will be headed east to face Coastal Carolina. If LSU wins, Coastal is coming to Baton Rouge.

Before the injury, he came out of high school the same year as Alex Lange, and even more highly regarded. It's why LSU had the #1 ranked recruiting class that year.

The game is starting on ESPNEWS due to the SCar-UNCW game.

Carolina leads UNCW 8-1, but UNCW has the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the eighth.

Amador looked great that inning -- throwing strikes, appears confident, good stuff.

Another quote from the Advocate blog "Latz, who started LSU’s SEC tournament opener against Tennessee, has yet to throw more than 36 pitches this season and has not pitched three full innings in an outing."

20 pitches to go.

Lewis seemed to have a little hitch in his stride coming in from third.

I hope he can tough it out. He has been a huge part of our momentum.

Their pitcher getting wild. Already bullpen action. Dom gets screwed with a call where they said he attempted to bunt.

Edit: then gets the sacrifice down
