The NCAA rule against the state flag is about neutral hosting sites.
And isn't the basketball arena on-campus at Oxford? So we're back to...What does the rebel flag have to do with hosting NCAA events on campus?
It means that they can't? Even if Ole Miss was in Jackson and Jackson was large enough to warrant NCAA hosting, they can't. What about this do you not get?
I'm no expert on Old Miss, or the flag, or the state. First to admit. But I'm pretty good at logic.
I don't get how they can host NCAA baseball regionals but they can't host NCAA basketball regionals. You said the difference was the baseball is on-campus. But the basketball is too. So what is the difference that the flag makes for basketball - that it doesn't for baseball?

Even without the rebel flag controversy, the NCAA would never place a neutral site NCAA Men's Basketball Tourn in tiny Oxford, MS.
It wouldn't matter if Ole Miss built a 15,000 seat arena or their current 9,500 seat arena.

If we have settled that, may I please request that we shut the hell up about Ole Miss?

It may take a couple weeks, unless, you'd like to up the ante.

Maybe so about the population. Not sure about the NCAA parameters and how far you can be from a major airport. Oxpatch might be outside the radius.
But it has nothing to do with the flag.
