Potential Super-regionals
The NCAA just came out with their schedule....

http://www.d1baseball.com/news/d1basebal...s-central/

- Should Coastal beat NC State and Rice beat LSU, the Supers will be @ Coastal; so we will be roadtripping regardless.

- Whether it be in Raleigh or whereever Coastal is, we're the Saturday - Monday games, with the first game scheduled for Saturday evening at 8:00pm EST.

Coastal is located just outside of Myrtle Beach.. There could be worse places to be sent!

Surely Coastal will be hosting at the minor league park in Myrtle Beach and not at their on-campus stadium in Conway? Was this decision made because of the likely rain this weekend in Houston (and sunny skies in South Carolina)?

Did the NCAA announce this? I mean, I have no reason to doubt D1Baseball.com, but I'm still hoping they have it wrong.

Thanks. And now I see csouth had posted it on the other thread as well.

Oh well, was fun to dream about a home super. Now I guess I don't really care about the NCSU - CC game; those teams look about dead even to me.

Most had thought Coastal was going to get the Regional host bid over NC State so I had assumed that should they win the Regional there would be no doubt that they would host the Supers if LSU lost.

And this is from a man (Walt) who said we have no chance in the region after the loss to LSU. In fact you mailed it in as per your post. You are truly amazing with your lack of conviction and consistency. You have no clue what it is like to walk in these players shoes and so glad they exhibited more fight and confidence than a weak minded individual.

Keep your personal attacks coming, as they truly define you.

OK I will take it down but your defeatist attitude after the loss to LSU was maddening. We may not win but to say we have no chance sure wasn't what the players were thinking after that game. Glad they are playing with a different attitude.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you haven't even looked up pictures of our on-campus ballpark since it was renovated.

But seriously - our fans are all rooting for the Owls tonight. Hope to see y'all soon!

Probably just going off the website where it said it was expanded to 2200 in 2008 to host the regionals. That most likely wouldn't win a bid package against Reckling which can seat 5000+ for a SR. Thanks for the support tonight!

Looks like a perfectly nice, if not a little bit small, stadium.

FYI ... Coastal is joining the Sun Belt and moving to FBS football starting in 2017.

Quote:The 33,000-square-foot baseball project includes 2,500 permanent seats, with the potential to accommodate between 5,000-6,000 fans for events like an NCAA postseason tournament.

Good looking stadium.

Oh cool that means that in 5 years Rice-Coastal will be a conference game.

Per Michael Jacobs, Assistant Athletics Director/Ticket Sales and Revenue, in response to my question of where we would be playing on the way to Omaha -

Springs Brooks Stadium is nicer than most minor league ballparks in the country so we will be hosting at home. We just need them to win today so we can show it off to the rest of the country.
Go Coastal
Michael
