In Alaska, males do not even have to be undergoing hormone therapy and there is no JV/Varsity distinction. This means a 17-year-old young man can be competing with 9th-grade girls.

This is track, which is a sport without any physical contact between competitors. But wait until it hits the ice, or the court, where 17-year-old males are slamming against 17-year-old girls.

1 - It's only a matter of time until a girl gets crushed by a man and is really hurt
2 - Eventually this may mean fewer scholarship opportunity for girls as straight up men will be competing for athletic spots with them.

1 - Nattaphon Wangyot is a 12th grade male. Meaning he is at least 17 and perhaps older (immigrants sometimes are a year behind, my school's valedictorian was 19 because she had to learn English.

2 - The Alaska Schools Activities Association recently implemented a policy to allow individual school districts to decide if a transgender athlete can compete in a sport as the gender they identify with regardless of if they have or have not committed to "treatments"

3 - None of his times would have put him in the finals for any of the Men's.

4 - Because spots in state championships are limited Mr Wangyot took a spot from a girl. That girl was Saskia Harrison.

Humans are sexually dimorphic. Men have a distinct advantage in contests of speed, endurance, and strength. It's why title IX and womens sports are necessary.

At the very least, aside from the looks department, this could be very good news for the game of women's basketball. More dunking and more excitement.
