It was bad enough that an OM fan was making a joke about an event that took lives and destroyed property even in their own state, but getting the year and the words to the song incorrect even made the whole thing pretty Mickey Mouse.

When WKU was in the OXFORD regional in 2009 it was the first regional I had attended.We finished runner-up beating Missouri twice and Ole Miss once.My wife never wants to go back to Oxford.Their fans were dirty to some of our players and more.Several drunk and disorderly.A few were nice but if we had won that elimination game on Mon. night I would have been concerned for our safety.Rough place.

GLAD they lost today.GO all C-USA teams! Win and make us proud!

It was a comment by OM fan or player.....in addition to being classless, it was also a misquote of the song and referenced the incorrect year.

Back in 1979 USM played Memphis at Memphis in football. After the night game, many USM and Memphis fans showed up at Silky's downtown to enjoy some adult beverages.

Well as the night wore on, about a dozen Ole Miss males came in and walked up to the bar. One obnoxious OM fan said something like he didn't know it was high school football night in Memphis. The thing to know is that at that time USM had beat OM two out of the last three years, including that year.

Well, we had won the game and decided to ignore them. On the other hand, Memphis had lost and weren't wanting to listen to it. Anyway, still don't know what started it, but an OM guy punched a Memphis guy and then holy hell broke out.
The OM guys got their ever lovin azzes whipped by USM and Memphis fans. The cops showed up, found out the OM guy had started it and arrested him only. Have always felt a bond with Memphis fans since that night. By the way, I was way to drunk to help. I did buy many rounds for the USM and Memphis guys that inflicted the punishment on the Hotty Toddy boys. It was awesome.

"Hotty Toddy Jerks" These ole miss dudes fulfill the stereotypes against them and are profligates of the worst kind.Most of them have an adequate amount of money,opportunity,and formal education yet choose to act WORSE than animals due to some twisted sense of tradition or peer satisfaction.

All of them need to be put on a road crew for a few weeks in the hot summer cutting kudzu till their tongues hang out.Disrespectful lot.I could go on-can't stand em.They make me sick.
