Brent Stockstill invited to Manning Passing Academy

Let's hope that Li'l Stock gets a better regular season follow-up after attending the Manning Camp than Logan Kilgore did. While I'm pleasantly surprised to see Kilgore hanging on in the CFL; he was a real disappointment in his final season with MT. Stock has to be really solid for MT to shine in 2016.

Just curious how Stockstill can only be a sophomore this fall? According to this recruiting site Stockstill will be 22 years old this August, and graduated HS in 2013. How did he lose a year or two?

He did a grey shirt year in 2013., and the redshirted in 2014. Greyshirting is become more and more common.

They were trying to do the same thing with Litton at Marshall. He delayed enrolling and didn't play in 2014, and was set to redshirt last year until he was pressed into service in week 3, else he would be on the same age trajectory as Stockstill. 22year old sophomore QBs aren't uncommon anymore.

As CoachMac said. He signed with Cincy originally, then greyshirted after transfer midway (IIRC) thru year. Then redshirted in 2014. Then last year he finally could play as a redshirt freshman.

And everyone thought Doughty was old. Anywho, hope he does well at the academy

Congratulations MT fans. I hope C-USA can reach a point where we have multiple QBs invited to these types of events.
