Very very nice. Send him immediately over to the Twins.

From Keith Law mock draft
Lauer could go anywhere from the low teens to about here (33 to STL) as one of the top three college lefties in the draft. He punctuated his strong spring with a good performance in the MAC tournament this week.

From mock

Kyle Muller, LHP
Jesuit College Prep School of Dallas
I'm hearing the Twins only going with arms right now, mostly college (Dunn/Cody Sedlock) but also some physical, high-ceiling prep guys like Muller, Manning (who's probably unsignable here) and Whitley.

Looks like a lot of analysts are predicting my White Sox to take Lauer with their second pick in the 1st round at #26.

Also, WMU has a pitcher who will probably go in the 2nd round.
Tigers really like him but don't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick because of FA signings.

He did pitch a great first game in the tournament on Wednesday. But why did Kent decide not to pitch him in the championship game on Sunday? They could have and should have been playing in Louisville today instead of Western Michigan. Most of us were really looking forward to seeing Lauer and Akin duel it out for the championship. Instead it was a total disaster for Kent and a real dud for the MAC. Akin also pitched on Wednesday and was able to come back and shut out Kent for six innings in the game that really mattered.

The problem is the tournament setup that makes the championship game one in which the teams have to go so far down their rotations. Guys are starting who never started any league games and would not be needed at the NCAA tourney level either should the team get there.
Sure, KSU fans (and team) would prefer to have their ace pitch the championship game, but the way the tourney is designed, that was never going to happen, barring a rainout that pushed the game to Monday.
Yep. KSU might have pitched Lauer all of those innings in the 1st game but they rolled the dice and said that winning the first game is priority #1.
EMU, don't want to sound self-serving, really hurt Kent State by pushing them in all 3 games esp. not letting Lauer retire after 50 or 60 pitches the first game.
Had the first game gone differently wouldn't have Lauer come back for the championship game????

Watching him tonight in Fort Wayne.
Two innings. No hits and a walk. Almost a pick off first. 1B threw it away
