Question: where's the extra $26.25 million coming from? Is this Raycom? ACC Digital Network? the stinking ACC restaurant in North Carolina? I wouldn't worry about it but it's almost $2 million per team, and if it's from Raycom then you need to add that to the $3 million for no network, making the new floor for a successful channel $5 million/year.

There is always more revenue than advertised. That is the North Carolina way of doing business, therefore the ACC way.

A screen shot of the 990 would help me read it, but IIRC, some of that "unknown" is probably accrued interest and the secret stash of withheld money used for a rainy day. In addition to the league office taking a share, the league office also withholds some money from member schools like your mom and dad might dock your allowance. This type of paternalism probably seems outrageous to those of you outside NC, Va, and SC, but it is an outgrowth of public financial collapse during the Great Depression.

I think a huge chunk of that 26 million is also coming from the NCAA. Check out the 15-16 distribution. It has the info on amounts recieved in 14-15. There was a lot more than 21 million on there.

I think what 4x4 may be referring to is that according to the linked site the NCAA distributed to the ACC a total of $41.33 million in 2014-15 using the data from 2013-14 column of which only $17.5 million were NCAA bb units.

So what did the conference add to that base figure of $17.5 million it received from the NCAA in terms of bb units to get to the $21 million on the tax return and where is the remaining $20 million from the NCAA's total distribution that is not part of the conference's tax return?

Cheers,
Neil

Ah! Now that IS interesting... do you suppose it could be those NCAA academic incentives? I think ACC teams perform really well in that, so they probably get the max, whatever that is (I used to know, but forgot).
