I think you're completely reading this incorrectly. They aren't saying "Sure, they have 40 wins and won CUSA, but they haven't played the competition we have."

What they are saying is, "Stat 1: They won CUSA. Stat 2: They are 40-18. Stat 3: We have no common opponents between us to compare the two.


Not everyone is disrespectful. Sometimes, you just have to read it a second time to make sure you aren't reading it wrong.

For the last few years I would always hope FAU would get put in the FSU region based on the fact they are not close to Miami or UF yet we always get screwed.

If the writer had written it correctly...."...and have not played any of the same opponents..." then there would be no issue.

To me as long as they realize we are Southern Miss (or USM) and play in CUSA I'll give them credit as many times as I've seen us referred to as SMU or even Mississippi St or Ole Miss. Hell, I've seen schools in our conference refer to us as SMU on their athletic website or scoreboard when they are playing us.

I didn't take it as insulting and just as a few others pointed out the headline does say "the Noles have a difficult path to Omaha" and not "Noles should have a clear path to next week against Florida" or something to that liking. Also, it doesn't say we "have not played opponents "AS TOUGH AS" FSU has this year....it says "have not played opponents that FSU has this year" so I'm fine with that.

He did write it correctly, just not the way you'd prefer. -_-

To be fair to the article , even if you're reading it as a dis' on USM and C-USA, again, when the #18 RPI team in the nation doesn't make the regionals, that should tell you something.

A lot of USM fans have little-man syndrome and always look for anything to get bent out of shape about when it comes to the "big schools" talking about us.
