They honestly need to just turn it into a made-for-TV awards event possibly with celebrities playing in their place or combine it with the college football all-stars game. It should have been eliminated years ago.

I like the return to AFC vs. NFC. I would also prefer they move it back to the week after the Super Bowl.

Then you need to give the players incentive to win. Like a $1M per winning share. Nothing for the losers.

Even that may not be enough unless you're about to retire within a few years. Why go all out for a 1 million dollar game check when you can still possibly make tens of millions for the rest of your career?

Why play an actual game, anyhow?

There is no college football "All-American" game. It's enough to be selected to the team. Have a weekend for the Pro Bowl players and their families, proceeds go to charity, etc.

Football, perhaps more than any other sport, is a game where the fans care more about the teams than the top players. You can argue this night and day, I'm sure. But I would rather see Vikings players not play in the game and prevent the risk of injury. Because I only care how they help the Vikings win. I don't care if the NFC pro bowl team wins. That is meaningless.

Or they could play flag football. Anything but real football, even if it is a glorified low contact scrimmage.

I like having the pro bowl the week after the Super Bowl because it is a nice way to wean yourself off football after the biggest game of the year. Now the season builds to the Super Bowl and then suddenly there is nothing.

The Pro Bowl is a good way to ease into the off season before they pull the plug for the season.

I probably haven't watched a full Pro Bowl since the 90's, so it has zero impact on me.

One of our local radio shows said, just turn into a series of flag football games for the people voted in... minimal danger of injury, fans get to see their favorite players.

You could IMO, honestly get more out of a few 7-on-7 flag football games then a full blown roster playing one tackle game.

I think you mean one-touch. Anyways why do that? 7-on-7 with flags.

You can still roll/turn an ankle, break a finger/wrist, tear a knee, running around playing flag.

I don't want any Vikings players actually playing in the Pro Bowl. And I'd write that into their contracts, if it was allowed by league rules (don't know if it is). Being selected to the team, is good enough. You still get your bonus.

Turn it into a Skills Competition, who can kick the ball thru the uprights from the furthest distance, who can kick it thru 10 times in a minute.

How many throws can a qb put thru a tire swing.

Or something like the battle of the network stars

a tug of war between selected teams from each conference

relay races between selected conference teams

& an NFL strongest man competition and have winners in different weight classes.

put enough of these into an event; fans will watch and likelihood of injury is reduced greatly

The predecessor to Network Stars was Superstars, where they did this with top athletes from all sports. Was very popular in the early/mid 70s. I think this is a great idea - the pro bowl is by far the worst of the professional all star games. Totally unwatchable.
