Question SEC, ACC Dominate NCAA Baseball Tournament
From Yahoo: SEC, ACC combine for 13 of 16 NCAA baseball tourney sites

Quote:Texas A&M, Florida and LSU lead a pack of seven SEC schools chosen Sunday night as regional hosts for the NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Defending national champion Virginia is among six ACC schools that will host a four-team regional, giving college baseball's two most powerful conferences 13 of the 16 sites in the 64-team tournament that starts next week.

Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are the other SEC schools selected, with Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, Miami and North Carolina State the other ACC programs.

Of course the beauty of this arrangement is that they can't knock each other out in the first round. If all 13 win their regionals there is going to be a helluva an uproar elsewhere and a lot of highly attended super regionals in the Southeast! This is just partly why the SEC/ACC content is more valuable year round than that of the Big 10.

Whining about how the north is disadvantaged by the weather & that baseball should be played during the summer despite the fact that school is out! When it comes to baseball they don't stop whining.

Credit to whoever made up the brackets. Assuming the host/higher seeds win (I know, I know...) there will be some good, old fashioned rivalries in the super-regionals.

Florida v Florida State
Texas A&M v TCU
Clemson v South Carolina

Also credit to Duke. 1st tournament since 61??
