I have only recently started watching it myself and I must admit, I am loving the game!

Although my guess is that mostly whites play the game, I think there has been some history of MEAC schools having famously good lacrosse teams made up of black players, a few decades ago.

Don't know if blacks play the sport much nowadays.

One of the best faceoff guys in lacrosse is from Minnesota.

The game is awesome!

Illinois high schools will compete for a state high school championship next year. The high school baseball teams are upset because they have to compete for athletes.

There seems to be a shortage of coaches who played the game in the Chicago area. If you are a high school teacher, know lacrosse, and wish to move to the Chicago area- now is the time. Kids love it. We need better coaches.

I have been announcing the games all season.

Illinois is just sponsoring an official state championship next year?? Minnesota has had one for a few years now. I would've thought as the game moves westward from the East, that Chicago would've caught on well before Minnesota.

I guess the hockey skill set translates well. But still, I would've also thought there plenty of high school hockey being played in Chicagoland. Maybe not?

Lacrosse grew up in Canada --- it's the 2nd most popular sport up there. Proximity to the Great White North plays a factor as well.

British Columbia is a big lacrosse market going way back. The prairie provinces are relatively new markets, but BC has a modern lax history like Ontario or New York.

The reason U of Denver started lax was because they had so many lax playing hockey players from BC and Alberta. The Denver metro has had HS lax for some time, starting from an ember well past the normal lax growth boundaries, thanks in part to Denver U and eastern migration.

Maryland vs North Carolina finals for both men and women.

North Carolina beat Maryland today for the women's championship.

The men play Memorial day at 1 pm ET.

LaCrosse is a growing sport and will continue to grow. It is growing here in Wisconsin too. I am glad the B1G decided to grow LaCrosse in the conference.

With conference networks in need of live sports programming year round, LAX would seem to be a natural fit. I wouldn't be surprised if it grows as a women's sport, even supplanting other women's teams that aren't as watchable (like field hockey).

I would think women's lacrosse has already surpassed field hockey. That is a really niche, East coach prep school thing.

Women's LaCrosse could grow into the big pro sport for females. Basketball doesn't allow for as much of the population to have a chance since shorter females have little chance at a pro basketball career.

Soccer and LaCrosse are likely to be the big female sports over the next 50 years. Softball hasn't gotten to the main stream like people were hoping it would. I could see LaCrosse become a mainstream sport for females and become a regular thing on TV just like you see for some male sports.
