USM killed themselves with that FIU series.

The usual NCAA screw job... No team from the 5th best conference in the land hosts. Disappointing but expected.

The UAB series didn't help as well.

Also, losing 2/2 to both Tulane and USA hurt.

Split those 4 games and our RPI is better and so is our record.

Well, we all just need to KICK SOME ASSES in the NCAA regionals. That would make a strong statement this year and set us up for next year.

There are about 19-20 teams every year that have a resume "good enough" to host. The margin for error is slim. We got to the finish line and dropped the ball. Take that series and win one or two in the tournament and we are hosting.

USM will either be in Lafayette or Tallahassee.

Agreed... we had about 6 games that pretty much were the deciding factors (FIU, USA, UAB) that we didn't win and as such I can't argue with the seeding.

Agreed... we had about 6 games that pretty much were the deciding factors (FIU, USA, UAB) that we didn't win and as such I can't argue with the seeding.

A series that sticks out to me was the opening weekend series vs Eastern Illinois who finished 271. Granted we won all 3 but that was the only 3 games against competetion all season worse than 200. We had a non-conference RPI of 7 but had we played a higher quality opponent our RPI and SOS would've left less questions. I realize I'm being critical and minuscule but that's my opinion

Can't really complain other than to complain about the RPI system itself, and the built-in bias for the SEC and ACC (but I think our conference gets some benefit too).

We could tie the Big 12 and Pac 12 for third most conference bids with 4 apiece (although it wouldn't surprise me if the Pac 12 got 5 to make up for no hosting). Now if we don't get 4 bids, then all bets are off.

Eh, that EIU series isn't very bad, IMO, as we won all 3.

ULL had a 200+ RPI loss this year and they got the host spot ahead of us.

ULL is the only one that I would even try and make a case against over us. The rest I can't argue with.

Eh. I think Vandy is the better one to make a case against. More top 50 wins, more top 100 wins, heck, Vandy has only won one series against a regional-caliber team all year! But they beat us in RPI by 10. This committee weighed the RPI incredibly heavy.

So we have Start Faster. Next year? Finish Stronger.

it's a done deal....we were only hoping....the arguments are solid, but it doesn't matter now....

time to move on and did it like we did in '09...sans the walks once we got there
