at LSU

Fairly tough region too with LSU the #8 national seed, us, SE Louisiana and Utah Valley State. Hopefully Fox is on in the first game. Maybe if Duplantier is matched against LSU, they'll think he goes to LSU since he has a Cajun sounding name.

Paired with NC State regional.

(Sorry A&M is 4 national seed, not LSU)

LSU is the #8 seed. Ben McDonald's nephew is the likely pitcher Rice will face on Friday for SELA.

A&M got a pretty easy regional (Wake Forest, Minnesota and Binghamton - good luck to all those teams on getting to College Station). But they're paired with a tough region in TCU (Gonzaga, Arizona State, Oral Roberts). I'm not sure Del Conte did his school any favors.

I like the matchup. SE LA scuffled down the stretch, before playing decently in the Southland tournament. Similar to us actually.

LSU will be tough, but every host is tough.

Don't see Utah Valley being much of a factor.

USM goes to Florida State as 2 seed (tough regional there with South Alabama and Alabama State).
La Tech 3 seed at Mississippi State (another tough region with Fullerton and SE Mo State)
FAU at Miami

I think we're tied w Pac 12 for third most conference bids (4). No Oregon or Oregon State.

Did Big 12 only get 3 bids, or am I missing someone?

I like the draw. LSU isn't what they once were, and have broken down in the recent past at home in the postseason.

Just looking through SE Louisiana's stats, they have a lot of lefties in their line-up including their stud (Jamerson Fisher .437 11-66). Should set up well for Fox?

Interesting bracket - familiar nemesis LSU, followed by a possible trip to 2013 nemesis NC State. Is LSU the only team we have played at least twice in regionals, Supers and the CWS?

Assuming no arms got burned out this weekend, I suspect the conference tournament was great for the team -- got them used to regional-style pressure and washed away the stink of the lost weekend at LaTech

Here's a vision. A month before the FAU series, some posters were elating over our almost sure sweep of FAU. Didn't happen. LSU will be tough, particularly at home. It did not get a seed for nothing. We will need to play our best ball to get past LSU. Let's hope the 2005 regional repeats.

Let's worry about SELA first; that one's not a gimme. Blake needs to pitch the way he has the past two weeks, and the offense needs to deliver.

So glad we're the late game, as it makes it much easier to get to Baton Rouge.

Thanks. I'm reminded of a Rice Regional a few years ago against a small school and it didn't go well for Rice. Hope the Weauf gods weren't listening.04-chairshot
