Myself, I get a lot of work done around the house and outside so the honeydo list will be completed before the first kickoff. We also spend a lot of time at summer festivals. Here in Rochester, the festivals start around mid May and end in mid October and there is usually some type of festival going on every week. Very rarely will I visit a festival after September 1st. We also do a little traveling all over NYS, from the city to the Adirondaks.

Cuse, have you checked out Old Forge, Ny and while there Enchanted Forrest/ Water safari ? it's up in the Adirondacks. Fun weekend. I usually take a road off Rt 12 South of Booneville. Rt 28 at Alder creek & Rt12 it's a Really curvy road but quite scenic way to get there. Another favorite is Sackets Harbor, Ny just outside of Watertown, Ny Great Micro Brewery there too on the Lake Ontario. Farther North on I-81, Alexandria Bay and Thousand Island, Ny are great times too.04-cheers

Keith, we'll meet you guys in Sackets...our lakehouse is about 10 mins away. I did like that place we eat at with you guys in Southern Lewis County.

You might try to get up here for the Empire Nationals...the Fairgrounds are being totally rebuilt and the Syracuse Nationals will be the first show. They have like 375 RV spots being built.

Do like to take the kids to the zoo a couple times during the summer & maybe a weekend getaway during the fall. There's a nice park by home that has a good water park for the kids. Used to camp & boat a lot.

That used to be me. But now my kids are all grown. My youngest is 21 years old.

I'm old enough to have a 21 year old but instead my oldest is 5.

I have a better chance of National Geographic taking pictures of mine. LOL

Speaking of dog days, it was upper 80s and humid in my part of North Carolina today. Was spreading mulch around my yard but had to stop after a few hours of feeling the heat. Should've started earlier in the day...

It's been brutal the past two days. Probably from TS Bonnie feeding moisture in.

Nice as it can be right now sitting on the back porch listening to the rain on the roof with a cold beer and an Arturo Fuente Hemingway.

Forgot about Bonnie. Rain supposed to start around early afternoon here. I like your mode of relaxation Kap. I haven't had a cigar in a long, long time.

Yeah, its been in the high 80's and low 90's in Upstate NY the last couple of days with high humidity. I left the house Friday late morning and the humidity hit me like a rock. I thought I woke up in Florida for a moment. It was just in the 30's last week. We normally don't get this kind of really hot and humid weather until July/August.

I'm not a regular cigar smoker but a few weeks back I helped a dealer rep with a big equipment demo down in Beaufort and he bought me a box. These are niiiice, but until I get my commission from the two sales they are a little too rich for my blood.

RE: What do you guys do during the dog days of summer?
That's the beauty of living in a pro sports market. There are no "dog days," as it were. There is always something going on here.

Right now, the city is all fired up over the Penguins playing the Sharks in the Stanley Cup Finals. Hockey is extremely popular here.

When that ends in the next week or two , hopefully with the Penguins hoisting the Stanley Cup, attention will shift to the Pirates, who are again involved in a penant race. That will carry us through the remainder of the summer and into the fall.

By August, college and pro football start to heat up and the Steelers and Panthers will gain our attention.

It never really ends - and it's completely awesome for anyone who loves sports!

That said, garages still need to be cleaned out, tasks still need to be done, movies need to be watched, vacations still need to be taken, etc. So you fit those in as well – usually in the summer.

The downside of that type of culture as that you don't get jam packed stadia every week. Because the options are so plentiful, you have to give consumers a reason to buy your product. Also, your spring game attendance usually stinks.

So what, though? Those are small prices to pay for the rest of it. It is an awesome trade off that I would make 100 out of 100 times without having to think twice about it. I'm sure that the Boston College, Miami and Georgia Tech fans feel the same way.

If the Cardinals can't win the division this year I hope the Pirates do.

Me too, but the Cubs are loaded with talent. It's going to be a damn good division again this year.
