Police Officers Sue Baltimore’s Top Prosecutor for Defamation Over Freddie Gray State
https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-office...40092.html

Two of the Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray are suing State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

Sgt. Alicia White and Officer William Porter filed a lawsuit against Mosby, Baltimore Sheriff’s Office Maj. Sam Cogen and the state of Maryland in Baltimore circuit court for defamation and invasion of privacy, according to a report by the Baltimore Sun.

The suit goes back to statements made by Mosby at a May 1, 2015 news conference, which White and Porter claim that the city’s top prosecutor knew “were false,” according to the Sun.

No, the frivolous charges that were based on emotions and politics rather than facts were the big waste of taxpayer money. These cops have every right to sue.

I think the Mosby should have faced charges of prosecutorial misconduct. Her presser was way out of line. There has been a significant rise in murders in Baltimore since her incendiary accusations, such that she shares the burden of guilt of any who may have died.

Let's see if she rises to the level of a "Nifong" first. You have to be acquitted before you can file Malicious Prosecution in a civil lawsuit. If there's a finding of no Probable Cause to support the charge then you open the door to Civil Rights violations as well.

Those will be forthcoming. They had to file these specific charges because the statue of limitations were just about up.

I think she needs to go up on federal criminal charges for violating the civil rights of those officers.
