Just saw that 3 rugby players were attacked last year. I heard about the incident, didn't know they were athletes.

Club team. Not scholastic athletes.

But nonetheless, they represent the university as well.

Rugby club has been huge for years. They were very popular on campus 20 years ago.

Rugby is awesome. I'll be keeping an eye out for the games now that I know this is a thing.

I have seen them playing in Lafayette Park on Granby St. I particularly remember seeing JMU out there before, too.

I drive past that park on a regular basis. Only see the kid football games there. I'll keep an eye out for the games.

I can't remember what time of year they play. Maybe Fall? But, it must be on Sundays, because I don't work on Saturdays and I have walked through them going to lunch before. The rugby field is behind the baseball field, to the side of the tennis courts.

Can't wait.

I played for a very short time, but was fun while it lasted.

In my experience (2009-2015) they were just fun dudes. They had really fun parties and were down to earth

I think this is a pretty universal understanding; Rugby teams know how to party and they want everyone to join in on the fun. Doesn't matter what university you're at, most will say the same.

I've been fortunate enough to catch a few Sevens here in the US. (San Diego and Las Vegas) as well as scoring Rugby some tickets by chance on one of my visits to Sydney.

I'm pretty stoked to catch a game later this year.

I had a roommate on the rugby team and a few friends as well. I also befriended a few of them when I was a bouncer at The Edge. The parties were epic.
