RE: Hurons, Chippewas, Redskins
Dear Luckeyone,
Just like Eastern should have kept the Huron nickname. Our wonderful president at the time, turned his nose at a university poll where approximately 80% of the alumni that were polled, said to keep the nickname.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Unless you're a modern American. Then it's your responsibility to hunt for things that offend you and then bully the accused into submission. I guarantee that there are people who are angered that Native Americans did not express sufficient outrage in this poll. That offends them too.

What are the odds that Bunsis is offended and outraged?

Good for the Redskins for not caving to the nonsense.

Much respect to you as an EMU fan, who actually shows up and supports a lot of the athletic programs.......

but if you take offense to Bunsis jokes and criticism, best get used to it on an EMU athletic board. 03-nutkick

Actually, why don't you invite him to the board? I'm sure everyone would love to meet him.

Of course they are. 04-cheers No one with the funds and the lawyers has succumbed to this non-issue. They also have a very large, very loyal fandom. It's only the public institutions, who don't have the means or will to oppose the nonsense. We also have Cleveland and Atlanta (MLB), Chicago (NHL), and Kansas City (NFL) holding on.
