Big Ten Conference revenues rise 33% in one year
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/col.../84553752/
Quote:The conference had $448.8 million in total revenue during a fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 — a figure that represents a nearly $110 million increase over what it pulled in during its 2014 fiscal year.
As a result, the conference distributed roughly $32.4 million to each of its longest-standing 11 members, amounts that put those schools on par with amounts the Southeastern Conference distributed to each of its 14 member schools from conference revenue that totaled $527.4 million.
Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers are each on separately negotiated paths to full shares of Big Ten revenue. In fiscal 2015, Nebraska received $19.8 million, Maryland $24.1 million and Rutgers nearly $10.5 million, according to the new return, which the conference provided Wednesday in response to a request from USA TODAY Sports. The return also showed that the Big Ten loaned Maryland an additional $11.6 million. That money was an advance against future conference distrubutions, deputy commissioner Brad Traviolia said in an interview.

This was year 1 of Maryland and Rutgers for BTN revenues and year of CFP revenues. Which accounts for most of that increase I'd imagine.

RE: Big Ten Conference revenues rise 33% in one year
I truly believe the numbers are about to get stupid. From the most recent reports the conference sounds confident they are in a steong position. I fully expect that Fox will throw so much money at the B1G that we won't be abke to say no. I'm expecting 40-45 million per year per team in tier one money alone. Not conference championship money or bowl money or playoff money or ncaa tournament money or BTN money or any other type of money.
I even think that Fox et al will guarantee any new members will get a similar distribution immediately which will increase the likelihood of being able to pluck other conferences because of revenue discrepancies.

And everyone on the realignment board will say they overpaid and the ACC is worth more. hahaha

Show me where any sane poster said that last part. I haven't seen anyone respectable say anything like that. A lot of people like to say that overpaid kinda stuff about the Big Ten and even the SEC, but whatever can't have a thin skin when you're one of the top dogs.

I didn't say they did say that, just poking fun at those folks over there who don't like us much.

Fair enough. It's why we want a P5 only board, it would limit a good amount of that.
