You're double-dipping in a lot of those categories. Part of those percentages INCLUDE Asians, for instance.

No, I'm not the first category is pure east Asians. The second is native Americans and the third was pacific islanders. There was also a spot for "multiracial" which was about 10%.

Of course there would be some people whi fit into both categories but even with the point stands... If you think there are more gays / trans people than Asians/Native American/Pcafici Islanders in the US then you've bought into the hype..

And there are numbers to show that the media presentation has given people the idea that these things are far more common than they are.

Not only is the population less than 1/20 people nation wide it's also not evenly distributed by geography. The LGB (no T) population of San Fransico is 15.4% the nation wide population is about 3.8 percent. Some states are well under 2% LGBT.

Their actual numbers are not really relevant but when people double it or triple it to make the abnormal seem normal it ticks me off. It's a very dishonest way to talk about the issue.
