Covered practice facility
Y'all see any certain logo on the renderings of the covered facility? This company hasn't been announced yet. Apparently they are helping with the covered field.

I noticed that too. Looks like their logo is on the covered facility twice. We know MPT, Protective, and APCO gave $500,000, but don't have naming rights. Maybe Legacy gave $1M to name the facility?

If you've noticed, we keep getting announcements every two or three weeks that a company has given a big donation. I imagine that there will be more.

This.

I'd imagine the majority of the ones announced and the ones to be announced have been lined up months ago. It's all about keeping the program relevant and in the news through another season of no football at this point. The Under Armour news probably won't come out until the football season.

On another note, the architecture firm that drew it up also designed the latest Auburn and Clemson football facilities.

Once the new facilities are built, will they tear down the old radio station dental office area and put in more field space?

They have to move the track before they begin. Last I heard the money for the track had been donated. Any news...

I'll be glad when they move that darn track and can move forward with everything else.

only school im America that is more concerned with a track than football facility. Track can go run around southside for the time being as far as im concerned. no different than us having to drive ourselves to practice at bham southern when it rained.

Its just the reality of the situation. Besides do you really want to get immersed in possible Title IX problems ? The track team is all female. They would need to have a practice track when the covered facility wipes out the existing area. I suspect they'll be built concurrently, but the track should be completed much sooner - the covered facility is said to take about a year to complete. My understanding is the new track would go where the old soccer field was.

Make that Mark Ingram, Ray Ray, and Jose Cuervo. Everyone else understands what the priorities are.

It was handled very poorly.

RE: Covered practice facility
What are the physical measurements of an "official track facility" and would they fit into the old west campus soccer field? As with an "official swimming / diving facility" there are likely specific measures that must be met. UAB is still handicapped because the BOT would not sign off on the student rec center until assured the pool would be too small for an aquatics (S&D) program.

Are their any actual Dates for Construction to begin behind the promises. Cause I'm a Fan of the Blazers and I have been to other places where dirt is being moved can all of these and this and that name a date of advancement. Can you put a Date on when this is going to be built. Can You. I've heard this is going to happen and all the pretty pictures but no date to action. Do you have a date of action on whats going to be built.

So you are asking if there is a date set?
