New CUSA TV partner
From the conference board ...

It looks like the fourth outlet for CUSA telecasts will be beIn Sports ... which has traditionally carried international events (primarily soccer) but is beginning to branch into domestic events.

beIn is available on DirecTV Channel 620 (as well as many other cable and satellite outlets) and appears to have solid streaming capabilities. Note from the following ...

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/bein...ogramming/

"Additional first-time-ever properties of U.S. College Football and Basketball were also announced helping to amplify beIN SPORTS’ domestic offerings. Both will be available on the English Channel and streamed live on beIN SPORTS CONNECT starting this Fall. Moreover, to align with our college sports programming, the network will be launching a Radio/TV show that will embrace the social nature of sports and engage fans thru Social TV."

Also ... http://www.medialifemagazine.com/upfront...-football/

So ... it looks like the four TV partners for the new deal will be ESPN, CBS College, ASN, and beIn. Kind of an odd mix.

In my area (SF Bay Area), beIN Sports is on U-Verse SD channel 662 and HD channel 1662, which are included only in the highest-cost U450 subscription.

From what I've read this morning everything should be able to be streamed online, which has always been the biggest issue with the ASN telecasts.

From the medialife magazine article OCO linked above (http://www.medialifemagazine.com/upfront...ootball/):

Quote:The network no doubt hopes to boost its viewership with its addition of new sports. During the first quarter beIN Sports averaged just 15,000 total-day viewers, according to Nielsen, down 21 percent from 19,000 in first quarter 2015.

I wonder how much money they'd have to put up for rights to broadcast the C-USA games? For the conference schools, however, every penny counts, to be sure.

Good news is, they've already hired announcers.

At least most sports bars will know where to find BeIn Sport, as it has a heavy dose of soccer, and broadcasts USA away World Cup Qualifiers. At least I can get BeIn on my cable package. There remains no legitimate way for me to get ASN.

If you don't subscribe to it with your cable/satellite ... and therefore don't have the ability to stream regularly ... SlingTV offers a package of international sports channels (which includes beIN) for $10/month.

I'm also in the Bay Area and get it with U-Verse U200 with the "HD Premium Tier" and "The Sports Package." All told, plus internet, I'm paying ~$130/mo.

It must be the Sports Package that also has it, which makes sense. On my channel roster, it's listed as being included in the U450.

Any idea when the 2016 CUSA Football official dates, starting times ...and which TV companies will cover each game ... will be released?
I assume we will have at least one change to the already released schedule (Baylor?)

Checked out BEIN Sports last night on my Dish Network service, channel 392. Nice HD picture.

Boy am I glad they haven't started broadcasting CUSA baseball yet.
