Sounds like realignment is not going to be happening now anyway. Since the OU president is now backtracking saying he is ok with the big 12 at 10 teams. My guess is Texas told him they don't want to start a conference network and unless they agree to expand without one then they need to shut the hell up.

So either sh*ts about to hit the fan, or it's business a usual.

Difficult to read between the lines on this interview.

Its quite obvious Texas is pulling the strings. But its difficult to tell if he is actually going to do anything about it.

way too much drama in this big 12 thing, we should all have no part of it. Put in a 50 million dollar GOR and build the league we have. If the P5 does not want our league screw em, just live on an island. At some point someone has to say enough is enough.

If schools would put as much effort into building/sustaining our current league rather than constantly striving to get out, perhaps the whole P5/6 issue would take care of itself. Too many quality programs within the AAC (and a few others) are excluded at the current divide. A P6/G4 split makes more sense, creates a more logical separation, and promotes increased stability. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Bearcat, That is a choice he has to make. To constantly speculate whether he stays or goes is a waste of time. I can tell you this, if he ever leaves money will not be the issue.

UH, like other AAC members and unlike G4 schools, is investing in athletics. That is a huge difference. Those investments will be rewarded.

[size=medium]
"We're making investments in our football program, things that are important to Coach Herman to try to make sure he has all of the tools to be successful here," said Houston athletic director Hunter Yurachek. "If he's going to leave here, he's going to have to leave for a great job. By the salary and the facilities, and all of the things we're going to put into our football program, how we're going to retain him is we're going to make it very hard for him to leave here."
