Texas will leave before the Big 12 expands.

RE: The Best Times of AAC
I've heard an OU Board of Regent say that no team brings enough value to be worth expansion in the B12. I've heard nothing from Texas that they will give up the LHN or will even vote for B12 expansion. I've heard that TCU and TTU will vote with UT, blocking any supermajority.

Yes the media loves expansion talk, but how we go from "no value team worth adding" to all of the sudden the B12 raiding the AAC for 4 teams is beyond ridiculous.

BYU and any one of Cincy/UH/Memphis make the most sense. And Memphis has only recently experienced football success, and that was with QB Paxton Lynch and Coach Fuente (neither of which will be back). But FedEx may help push them over the edge.

UH makes sense to replace the Houston market that has been raided by the SEC once they picked up TAMU. Cincy is probably the strongest program ready to move up now. BYU is a no-brainer if they can work out the Sunday travel and the B12 can get past the fact that BYU players are usually 2-3 years older than their opponents.

At most we lose 2 quality programs and stand pat at 10. It stinks but we've been down this road before with Louisville, Rutgers (LOL , Rutgers) and the original Catholic 8 departures.

Heck, when we joined this conference Larry Brown thought we'd be playing Georgetown and Nova and Marquette...and we've done just fine without them.

A Tale of The American Conference:

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

Learning about all the schools here, Getting ready for the Name, and then the Conference Symbol.

Having to wait that first year was so long, but then Navy was going to come in and I could look forward to that.
I actually started to care about basetball and going to the games. I didn't follow the 64 basketball tournament, but now damn. I have TEAMS to root for even if they aren't mine that I care about.

I am so anxious about the impending doom that this conference is going to get torn to shreds in the next couple of years. How the hell does this NIU poster so excited about joining? I almost want to invite NIU because he loves this conference as much as me, but its all pointless. Why is there 130 pages of Southern Miss!!! (It's even larger than the ECU to the SEC post on the SEC Page.)
This whole csnbbs thing is locking out the g5 teams from the sEC board soon, and the bias is really going to start.

I don't see Purple and Gold skies anymore or blue skies. It's just darkness. I am taking this whole thing rough because what we have now I can be proud when I go in to work when all the duke unc and state fans at my office put my team down. I wear my purple on Fridays, but I just don't get it anymore.

Good Luck Memphis, my home state of Connecticut, and Cincy <-- which I hate somewhat because I am a Steelers fan.

If I could chain our school to anyone's Fate it is with Houston, but then again I know PAC will pick you up.

Sorry for rambling but I say this all to please not put our conference down over the next few months. This was good times.
