Ever notice they can't settle on how much we initially raised? It's almost like a slight of hand trick. They hardly say the same amount twice.

Yea it's unprecedented support because we were never allowed to support it.

Don't even get me started about how season tickets were handled.

Lol. Until Clay Ryan and Ray Ray sicked their lawyers on the foundation. I think people wanted refunds and the number is around 2,000 now.

Yea UAB has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising and sold about 200 tickets. We sold over 4,000 in 48 hours before being shut down and threatened and spent only a few bucks.

Missed out on a golden opportunity. People from around the country were wanting to buy the presale tickets. Fire Ray Watts!

Sanctioned or not it brought attention, added pressure, and got the ball rolling...

Oh yeah, definitely. I was just saying that in an effort to prevent football from coming back, our idiot administration squandered the chance of UAB gaining lots of dollars and lots of new fans and attendance.

We've got:

1. One party that thinks the former administration sat on their hands and spent "hundreds of thousands" of dollars that never got fans to the games

2. And one party that thinks the current administration is a joke, is hiding donation information, and is hated by our current coaches

Makes sense. Solution: Coach Clark needs to hire BlazerTalk mods and posters to the UAB athletic administration. Together we can run this place! #HailCoachClark

No one said we could do their jobs (or want their jobs). A lot of us DID see a prime opportunity squandered with grassroots season ticket deal. That's a fact.

I'd love to know your relation to the UAB athletic admin. What makes you have such a hardline stance against the perception carried by a majority of boosters and fans who fought so hard to bring back the three sports we lost?

All I know is that commitments to purchase season tickets, accompanied by deposits, were coming in at an unprecedented rate. The administration invoked the law to stop them. Then when football was restarted the administration refused to say "Yes, the season ticket commitments already made will be honored." (How hard is that? "Yes, please, we'd like to keep the ticket sale and your money!") Instead those tickets were left in limbo with no clear status until the purchasers eventually just said, "Well, ok, can I have my money back then?"

Brilliant marketing, that. If they had been smart and nimble we could have sold hundreds of tickets to well wishers across the country.

Nah.

Nah.

Yep. And they probably would have donated them to a local organization (or back to the athletic dept) to give away. Could have gained national fans, plus new local fans with them...

Ingram spent several hundred thousands of dollars and sold approximately 200 tickets in six six months. We spent twenty bucks and sold over 4,000 in less than 48 hours. I rest my case.

If the Football Foundation had started a Kickstarter campaign when the news first came out and the Kickstarter link had been accessible when the news hit ESPN, our money problems would have been solved in less than a week.
