Conference Realignment (not expansion)
If expansion comes and goes with no teams lost, could we see a C-USA/Sun Belt mix up for more regional locations. Not sure how it would play out but this is my guess (13 teams each)

Eastern Conference
Old Dominion, Charlotte, App State, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Ga Southern, Ga State, FIU, FAU, Middle Tennessee, UAB , Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina

Western Conference
Texas State, ULL, ULM, Arkansas State, South Alabama, La Tech, UTSA, Rice, North Texas, UTEP, UT-Arlington, UA-Little Rock, Troy

RE: Conference Realignment (not expansion)
I can only hope. Consolidation along geographic lines needs to happen. If it does, it'll look something like this in the WEST...

UTEP
New Mexico State
UTSA
Texas State
Rice
North Texas
Arkansas State
Louisiana Tech
ULM
ULL
Southern Mississippi
UAB

Drop ULM as La Tech would go independent again before joining a conference with ULM.

Otherwise I would think this would make alot of sense.

Can these SBC/CUSA realignment threads stop? WKU, MTSU, etc left the SBC to distance ourselves from schools that are below our level, and the last thing we want to do is be perceiving alongside them again.

And Western is on the verge of being the "new Memphis" only with a top 25 football program...

Not to be the board contrarian, but there's not much separating the two conferences. We're all little kids.

We want UAB in the West. Do Little Rock and Arlington even play football?

RE: Conference Realignment (not expansion)
In all honesty, as much as YG and I disagree, WKU IS the champ until someone beats them... Which we haven't been able to do... Nutkick.. But kudos to them... They did what Marshall did in the MAC... A team comes in and sets the bar... We did in 2014 and WKU raised the stakes... The conference needs to get better by winning ooc games.. If we don't like it, then pony up and knock em off... That is all.

Basketball is soon to follow. So while UNCC and ODU fights over who got kissed first or who's going to get the call up to the big leagues. Western is about to own this conference...

with budget cuts and fallen enrollment. No AAC...wont matter. Just win!

Agreed.

Oddly enough, your two schools are the only two some of us Belters actually miss.

Of course they are. When compared to FIU, FAU & NTX, Middle and WKy are at another level. Thats like the AAC losing UConn, Memphis, Tulane and South Florida and their fans saying we only really miss UConn and Memphis.
