RE: $49 flights to Denver on Frontier
Keep in mind that a couple years ago Frontier converted to the Spirit Airlines model (and the two seem destined to merge). So, super cheap fare, but they will get you on fees for virtually everything else under the sun.

I think it is $30-$40 a bag, which is inline with everyone else out of O'Hare.

Just don't buy a $4 water on the plane.

Buy one at a newsstand for $3 instead! 03-lmfao

They do whack you with a fee for a carry on.

If you plan your fees accordingly in advance it's probably a still a pretty good price. Just be sure to pay the $7.50 "don't get punched in the taint during boarding" fee.

the problem I have is that they don't have many flights. You get a little weather or broken aircraft and you don't get out.

To choose your seat early, you pay a fee. To check a bag, it is $50 round trip. For a larger carryon, they charge a fee.

That's my issue. If I was leaving on Thursday I would do it.

Heard Frontier and Spirit are like flying a Greyhound bus . Don't be cheap guys. Lol. Thank me later. Most tickets to Wyoming are reasonable.

Took Spirit to Denver. They charge for everything! I had to pay to guarantee my wife could sit next to me.

So you declined that fee naturally right? Win-win!

About 90% sure. Just need to officially book a flight. Have just about everything else reserved.

You're right. I had a Spirit flight from Cancun to Sarasota last year via Ft. Lauderdale for $49. After clearing customs in Ft. Lauderdale, I got all pissed off about a $50 carry-on charge for a 200 mile flight. After I calmed down, I realized I was still getting a great deal even though they apparently put a higher value on my bag than they put on me.

There's a certain honesty to Frontier/Spirit. Flying is a fundamentally awful experience for pretty much everyone. Those airlines have the guts to not even pretend it isn't.

Now if a travel site would just build in the ability to select your likely fees into its price comparisons.

Yep. that is how Frontier is. You get cheap flight but then pay for your seat assignment if you want it in advance, pay for check bags, pay for larger carry on bags. No free soda or juice.

Merely suggesting such a thing caused the ground the quake. I paid the fee and kept quiet.
