Anyone remember Buckaineer??
Apparently, after years of extolling the virtues of the Big 12, the certainty of its growth/survival and likewise the demise/feasting of the ACC, Buck has thrown in the towel:

Where you around here a few years ago? Daily we would receive daily rumors from inside sources from the WVU clan and their Big12 buds.

I am enjoying it. That guy was a plague on multiple boards, absolutely certain that he knew everything and that anyone who disagreed with him (despite his never being correct in his predictions) was some kind of "troll".

So yes, it is kind of satisfying to see him throw up his hands in defeat and despair.

Sort of what I was going to say. He was just grating, and would push his agenda over and over, and refuse to listen to reason or anything anyone else would say.

He also seemed to have an unusual hatred for Terry, which quite frankly I find nearly impossible.

RE: Anyone remember Buckaineer??
Buckaineer was the worst kind of fan. It was either you bow down to his all-foreseeing knowledge of Conference Realignment... or you're a troll. No discussion, just, you're a troll, and you know nothing.

I too enjoy seeing him admit defeat. If you read some of their other threads on Scout, apparently they're having Buckaineer fatigue as well. They mostly laugh at everything he says.

It may be because since the old Big East boards ten or so years ago, I would challenge him on his bull****.

I see he hasn't changed, after all these years. Overwhelms everybody else with words, words, words. And now it is all gloom and doom.

My, how time flies. It doesn't seem like its been that long. I've been on these boards for about 13 years now, right when Miami and BC and VT were first trying to leave the BE and go to the ACC.

Wow the old Big East boards -- was that the one in the conference's own website? I started reading & posting there just before the 2003 realignment.

Well this very board right here, WAS The Big East realignment board, and was spun into its own board, as it was by far the most popular board on this site.

He seems very concerned about where WVU will end up. I would be too if I were him.

There was this board and another stand alone Big East board. I can't recall what it was called.

Buck used to inhabit that one until he came here, every ACC and ACC's school's board and the WVU Scout Realignment Board to spread The Word According To Buck.

Amen and amen.

I would have sympathy for Buc if he just fell on his sword. But I have a strange feeling that his farewell soliloquy will last past the death of the Big 12 and his eternally lingering dying breath will be "See I told you so!"

There were numerous obnoxious WVU fans out there spreading their crap, but Bucky boy here was the worse. I'll enjoy his suffering, thank you very much.

No, I wasn't on that one. There was one here, and then something happened to it and there was some others and then I found this one in 2004.

I'd like to nominate as my favorite post on BlueGoldNews this one by "Bull45":
