Reasons number 1 and 1A for Tulane not being in the Big 12:

1.They don't even begin to command their media market which is completely saturated by the SEC. (Same problem for Tulsa in regards to the Big 12 saturating ours)

2. They're just terrible at both major sports and have been (barring the odd +.500 year or two) for 30 or so years.

That's all you need. There's no other discussions or excuses.

Oh and one more thing. Ah. Never mind:)

1 isn't true, neither is 2. Of course, you couldn't actually know the answer to 1, unless you actually lived here, and watched the local news/sports. Even then, your argument doesn't follow. Of course Tulsa has a market saturation problem, because the BigXII is already there. But that is apples and oranges? Why can't the BigXII break in here? There aren't as many LSU fans here as you would think. LSU didn't kill the Tulane fanbase, we and the Saints did. Tulane fans didn't become LSU fans. They gave up and got on the Saints bandwagon instead. People like to follow winners. Doesn't mean they won't come back if we start winning again. In fact, history shows that they have, and do. Besides, the Surgar Bowl is here, it's not like the BigXII is some unknown quantity. And Tulane already gets plenty of local media exposure, and an absolutely a massive amount in the last year with the new AD and his hires.

You would know 2 isn't true if you actually knew Tulane sports history. We were on the brink in both in the mid to late 90s/early 2000s. Bad president and bad AD made bad choices. Katrina didn't help either. Those mistakes have been rectified.

But even if 1 and 2 were true, that isn't "all you need." You're being purposefully myopic. Or just don't like Tulane. The level of vitriol about Tulane going to BigXII is pretty much unique to this board and this board alone. Ask BigXII fans on Reddit or Twitter. The first reaction is "Huh, yeah that would be cool. New Orleans is awesome! Just need to make the investment in football and basketball." Which is what we are doing.

Hate all you want, but you're pretty much alone in that sentiment.
