The rumor is CCU is going with Under Armor for uniforms. Nothing official yet but a lot of people are saying its a done deal. Thoughts on it?

Who did you all have before? Any details on the deal?

Will that mean a significant change in uniforms? What are y'all hoping for them to look like?

I believe they were still wearing Russell Athletics unis

Russel before, I think everyone is a little mixed on what they want it to look like. Me personally I would like to see a commitment to the teal since it's what defines the school. I would like to go a little newer look maybe something like Texas Tech but bolder.

Their regular uniforms were simple, but they were not afraid to experiment with crazy.

In fact, Maryland and Northwestern had some crazy ones as well.

I am incredibly jealous! I wanted GSU to go with Under Armour a few years back when we went with Adidas. I thought it would be cool to be the only team in the conference with UA, and now CCU will be that team! Dang it.

Congrats CCU, I am glad no one in our conf will be wearing ole crappy Russell.

Russell isn't bad but certainly nothing to write home about. What was nice with Russell is that this was the first time that we had one manufacturer for all sports - it kept the color consistent. In the past we've ranged from dolphins teal to Jaguars real to green to aqua blue.

So that was a step up. This is a bigger step up. I wanted Nike more but seems that Nike doesn't do too much for the small schools.

It is nice going to be the only UA school in the league.

I would have been okay with Nike but I think UA will help in recruiting against other SBC teams.

UA is the absolute worst as far as looks. Hope they pay well

UA is making big pushes lately to get market share. They wooed and got Curry, Speith, Notre Dame and more.

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina University announced a new multi-year partnership agreement with Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE:UA). CCU Director of Athletics Matt Hogue announced the Baltimore-based global leader in performance footwear, apparel and equipment will become the official outfitter -- head-to-toe -- for Chanticleer Athletics beginning July 1, 2016.

As part of the multi-year agreement Under Armour will provide on-field and training gear for Coastal's 19 varsity sports and its 460 student-athletes. Additionally, Under Armour will outfit members of the athletic department including coaches and staff. The agreement marks the first time the Coastal Carolina Department of Athletics will have the same outfitter for its entire sports programs.

The new official outfitter agreement includes marketing entitlement that will complement Under Armour's brand marketing campaigns through print and venue presence at the University.

Coastal Carolina has climbed the ranks and stands as a leader among its peers. As of May 2016,
• Coastal Carolina baseball has earned 14 NCAA regional berths and advanced to Super Regionals in 2008 and 2010. Ten Chanticleers have played in Major League Baseball, including five in the last five years.
• Since starting football in 2003, Coastal Carolina has won seven conference titles, made six NCAA Division I Championship appearances and was ranked #1 in the nation for eight weeks in 2015. Nine Chanticleers have made NFL rosters.

Our AD, Hogue, has stated that this coming year's unis will be very generic and "non-teal" because we are so late in the normal next year production cycle, and the right teal is being developed across materials.

The real stuff won't roll until fall 2017. Some of us hope the school lets UA run with the crazy... after all, that's where CCU has already gone themselves with the embracing of teal and colored teal turf.

Rumor has it the deal may be the biggest in the Sun Belt. If true, gotta think we gave away permission to draw attention for UA, ala Maryland...

Wrong. They look way better than Russell and are on par with Adidas. Nike still has the edge overall (for now), but for smaller programs Nike sucks.
