The draft is fast approaching and I am excited to see which recruits get their name called. WMU has three recruits ranked in the final rankings- Keenan Suthers (NA 119)-Julius Mattila (EU 115)-Wade Allison (NA 62). Other draft prospects not ranked: Ethan Frank, Derek Daschke and Hugh McGing. This should be another solid year for the Broncos at the draft.

Having guys get drafted does not make WMU a better team, it may help with recruiting, but only if guys actually sign. Most of the recent NHL signings have all been free agents. Look at current crop of draft picks; Muir, McKee, Olson (though hurt most of last year), Iacopelli, Tiffels, none are really lighting it up.

The latest CBSN mock draft had Allison pegged in the first round 29th overall

Any guesses where Allison will be drafted? The CBSN mock draft aside, most scouts seem to have him late second round.

I'm thinking #58 to the Lightning.

In this case I doubt it. The coach and GM in Phily are both very pro college hockey. Plus if he develops slower they can just leave him in college at no cost to them to improve his game. If he goes Major Junior they have to pay him sooner, even if he's not yet ready.

McCaron went to Major Junior because Montreal wanted to sign him to a contract immediately.

Nolan Laporte and Josh Pitt invited to Capitals development camp. McKee and Molino go to wings camp.

Molino was at the Islanders camp this week.

Tiffels was at the pitt camp.
