You do not have to think football. Around 2006 or 2007, we played at UAB and had a kazillion run lead midway through the game. Then, our pitchers could not get anyone out, and UAB staged a stunning comeback.

2009 at UAB. The Sunday meltdown that cost us the national seed and sent us to LSU for the Super. We've never been the same since. Day that will live in infamy.

Ojala had a shutout through 5 innings, and left with something like a 9-0 lead, as he was still recovering from his arm injury, and our bullpen proceeded on a walkathon that ultimately cost us both the regular season CUSA title (losing it to ECU) and what appeared to be a sure thing national seed.

3 singles, a wild pitch and two walks plate two more Owls. Lead is not 12-0!

And it's not as close as the score indicates, as we've already left 15 (!!) on base, including the bases loaded three times (innings 1, 5 & 6).
