RE: Next Year is the Year to reach for BYU

you are oblivious to the nature of college football if you think a 11 win or 10 win byu jumps any of those 3
1b) there is only 1 atlarge next year, byu could finish 11-1 on your brutal schedule next year, top 10 in the polls and play 8-4 nevada in poinsetta
most years it will be undefeated or bust
and again most teams in the aac play the same teams you do but in ooc
2) you say most AAC dont schedule great or get plenty homes games, and use Cincy as the example..when cincy is the outlier, cincy schedules particular easy but literally every one else schedules hard..cincy is the outlier not the example..look at ecu, smu, navy, ucf, temple..uconn just finished a home and home with Michigan (byu is doing a 1 and done with them).. tulane and tulsa are the only other 2 that really fit your description
but instead of rebutting all your points. i just say i disagree with both you and bluecougs main point.."byu's adminstration would rather just stay indy than return to G5"..my honest opinion is the big 12 dream is still alive and your administration would rather put all its efforts into that before looking elsewhere
your administration said they wanted in a p5 in 3 years, you coach said indy wasnt sustainable. they both said this knowing the big 12 has publicly said they want east. if long term indy was an option theyd have been giving AAC admin type answers (aka saying we are happy where we are but privately lobbying, or we are looking into p5 opportunities but are in a great situation as is)
i think byu has the eye of the tiger for p5 and wont look at anything else till then, but if the big 12 expands and its not byu and the big 12 dream dies, i truly believe that byu will chnage its tone on joining the AAC/MWC
If BYU cannot get into a P5 they of course will move back to the MWC or join the AAC. Of course they will, pretending like they won't is unrealistic. Also, an 11-1 BYU will not make an access bowl or the playoffs. 12-0 is the only option. If not undefeated, no matter how good BYU is, they will play a MWC team in a bowl 7 out of 10 years (2011 to 2019) with an occasional AAC like the Memphis game and maybe a Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl once a decade. That's the situation. BYU has to get into the Big 12 or bust.
Cheers!
