I don't think these people are clamoring for a big 12 cable network.

B12 could add UCF and USF and start a successful B12 daily paper.

They are all in south Florida and the older ones are. I also think you are stereotyping. Most folks in the O absolutely love college football

I don't think adding UCF/USF to the Big 12 would bring any more subscribers to a Big 12 network than Houston would. A conference full of 10 or 12 big state flagship schools (BTN, SECN) can work but the PAC network is a flop. Even if Direct tv makes a deal with the PAC it still won't work. Not enough people care. I just don't see UCF/USF/Houston/ECU as being T-Shirt fan schools. I'm a proud t-shirt fan, and love wearing my Pirate gear out and about and to the gym, but no one ever comments. I see UT stuff every where. AtM gear. Florida gear. Tar Hell gear. Even Dukie gear. IMHO Tampa and Orlando wouldn't make the potential Big 12 network much if USF and UCF were in their conference. Florida would.
Cheers!

I don't think I made my point very well. These percentages are much higher than in most states, and these are not people advertisers crave.

I think USF and UCF have tremendous value, but I don't think they - even together - are going to guarantee a network with high carriage rate throughout the state.

However, the B12 will do their due diligence and we will see in time.

You have always been anti Ucf and think you know Orlando but you don't. We have tshirt fans now as well as those growing up in Orlando. Excuse my French but you know **** about what Orlando is today. It is entirely different. Gator tshirt fans are gator fans because they have the ability to get to a championship. Houston is a different situation entirely. There is nobody else in our region and no pro football to compete with. Our program was started well after yours. You can have your opinions but tell us what the makeup of our town is. Ecu fans seem to know the state of Florida pretty well. Especially our demographics and behavior. All I will say is we have done what you have done in 70 years in less than 40.

For the same reason we joined this one, title access. Money as a secondary.

Access, money, and exposure. How is this a serious question?

This is a Fox/ESPN thing, Fox will back UCF, ESPN will not. They want Fla. for their ACC properties--Fla. St. and Miami. UCF and USF lose out.

I can tell you for a fact we have ESPN backing despite what some folks on Twitter say. The ACC net may pull some from Orlando but not very much. Tampa maybe as FSU has a large presence there, but if we do get passed over it won't be due to ESPN. I will also remind you that some very high level boosters work at Disney. They better have a damn good business case to not include us. All of that being said as a state university the generate a ton of revenu for the county and state if the SEC was th impetus for it there will be hell to pay in Tallahassee. Ucf is no longer a regional university as it was in the past.

Because unlike schools like Houston, SMU, ECU, Tulsa and the like....Texas Tech and Iowa State are P5 members...which means tens of millions of $$ (hundreds of millions more per decade).

Not surprised that you still "don't get it".

LOL!!

Latin American immigrants?

Isn't everyone (other than Native American Indians) "immigrants" too?

Yeah...no clue how college football is successful in a state like Texas where 33% of their population is Hispanic...and 10% of their population is 65 yrs of age or older.

Or...I guess the 22% of the UCF population that are Hispanic can't cheer or support their school in any endeavor, including cheering them on at sporting events.

at least Houston, SMU and Tulsa have airports. When you have no boundaries you are not going to get what you want. UCF vs Texas Tech on a regular basis? Your fans would go to sleep.
If you want to join another league try something that would actually make sense ....the ACC

Don't they already do that with SMU, Tulsa, etc...?

At least Texas Tech & Iowa State would have a huge crowd at their games...even in basketball.

Also, maybe you are new to this topic....can't recall any team other than ND in recent years that had a "choice" to join more than 1 conf...as schools usually can only say yes or no to "upgrade' to a better conf.

UCF should try and join the ACC? Wouldn't the SEC be even better?
