Bill Baker gonna mention during USF game

Here's further proof of the NIU fan base; this is such a great idea and awesome memorial; yet it has been a struggle to get the funds. Either our alumni base has a worthless degree from NIU and struggling to make money or people just really don't care about their alma mater.

Lets see what happens after first home game. Word of mouth will generate donations. I bet most alums no nothing about this. Heck Bill Baker was unaware and he is friends with many NIU fans on FB

If Bill Baker isn't even aware of this then that further proves how far apart NIU and the fan base are. Granted, this board probably has the most diehard fans of NIU athletics so their demo wouldn't be this group.

It is highly likely that Bill Baker will again mention the project on the air. Thanks to all who continue to tell others about the project!

Here is an update for those who have been away from the board during the off-season.

**Update** 9/14/16 ** The Diesel Memorial Project

Our committee continues work on fundraising for the Diesel Memorial Project. Our artist is Renee Bemis, who did the sculpture in the Chessick Center courtyard of The Pack. The sculpture will be life size- Diesel with his paw up in his famous "high five" pose. It will be on a pedestal & will be able to be moved so that NIU may use it for events in other locations. (Their request) We have full approval from the University and the NIU Foundation.

Now that football season has begun we feel that donations will pick up once again. We ask that you all continue to tell your NIU friends about the project and please share the go fund me site. We have applied for and received not for profit status with the state of IL and the IRS.

Our date for dedication of the sculpture - as requested by NIU - is the first home game of 2017 vs. Boston College. Sept. 1, 2017
