Washington is filled with lobbyists whose very job is to do exactly that - and they pay off both sides. That is the whole reason Washington exists as it does today and why those in government lust for more and more power..........it leads to the money tree.

This is the point that people like Paul don't get. Every corporation uses money to influence Washington. You would expect a guy like Trump - and virtually every other CEO type in the private sector - to utilize the assets available to them to make money for themselves AND their stockholders. The truly EVIL part of this is that the people ELECTED to act as STEWARDS for our COUNTRY are only too eager to accept the money from special interests. If you cannot see the distinction, then you have no concept of what is really going on.

Holy ******* ****. That's what I said. He's an intricate part of the establishment. Both of you reaffirmed what I said. But his shtick, and what everyone apparently has bought into is he's NOT part of the establishment.

No. I'm defining the establishment as the politicians who are maintaining the status quo. Trump is not a politician. In the private sector, you use what you can - legally - to get ahead. In the gov't sector, you're not supposed to work to get ahead. You're supposed to be a steward who is taking care of the country - not a guy or gal working to enrich yourself. That is a fundamental distinction between being an establishment guy who is behind the guns vs being in the private sector where the guns are trained on you and you have to pay up in order for those guns to be turned onto another target. Understand?

Yes I understand.

You give the money, you take the money. Both parts are the establishment.

Just simply saying one participant isn't part of that equation does not make it true.

The two parties represent 2 different groups. The people who give the money represent specific interests. However, the people taking the money SHOULD be representing us. Also, one group has the power of the federal gov't at their beck and call while the others have to pony up cash in order to - at best - gain favors but equally typical to make the gov't leave them alone.

Exactly. People are always accusing the Koch's of being establishment. Rightfully. You can argue whether that's good or bad. But Trump does the same and... baffling.

Trump and his backers make establishment out as a bad thing. Again, you can argue good or evil. But then turn around and seem to think they can just disassociate the word from their guy and... well, unicorns and rainbows.

Although not quite sure who you were agree with Ham. 03-wink

He realizes that he will soon have to refer to Donald as Mr. President, or President Trump.

Man... I'm not even a big Trump supporter, and he was by no means my first, second, or even third choice (1 - Cruz, 2 - Walker, 3 - Rubio) but I am going to genuinely enjoy the state of utter shock and disbelief from the hipster, millennial, liberal crowd on social media when Trump beats Hillary.

I was only acknowledging that people are using different definitions of the same word.

All of these pieces, including the 'anti-establishment' pieces are part of the 'establishment', meaning that there has always been a sort of 'anti'- group... someone running as an outsider... often it has been governors running against senators as being 'outsiders'. Never before have there been two more 'outsider' candidates than Bernie and Trump. Not that Bernie is as 'unusual' as trump, but that he has gotten FAR FAR more support than Nader or any other relative minority party representative, and while Cruz and the Pauls were 'outsiders' to a degree, not nearly as much as say Perot, but Trump has done far better than he did.

The 'anti' group in this years election is DECIDEDLY larger than in any other election I can recall... certainly in modern times. Perhaps Kennedy was as big, but if (as an example) Ivanka and Trump's sons go on to do as Kennedy's family did, they would become part of the NEW establishment themselves.

Trump is not at all a traditional politician. He has certainly worked WITH traditional politicians, but he has never been on the receiving end of such favors before. He (by his own admission) needs to bring some people along who know how to work from THAT side of the table. Hillary is about as much like Obama and Kerry and Bush as anyone could be.

In May 2005, a controversy arose over comments Fox made during a meeting with Texas businesspeople in which he said, "There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work, are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States". This angered many African-Americans in the United States, prompting many black leaders to demand an apology from Fox. The Reverend Al Sharpton requested a formal apology from Fox to the African-American community and called for an economic boycott of Mexican products until an apology was received; he and many African-Americans felt that Fox's comments were insensitive and racist. The Reverend Jesse Jackson, during a news conference concerning Fox's statement about African-Americans, said that he felt that the comments were, "unwitting, unnecessary and inappropriate" and added that "[Fox's] statement had the impact of being inciting and divisive

Fox is well aware that whites run most of the blue collar trades contracting, carpentry, hvac, roofing, painting, landscaping. That is where many C. Americans get a start in the entry level areas. He is referring to blacks that won't consider that work, and prefer to gang bang and live off of women who have a job and a place to live.

Whites do not have a problem doing that work either. It is how they got started and then hung their own shingle. Same for C. Americans who now run their own shop.

Mexico should keep their citizens in their country and stop worrying about America, unless they want to get whipped again. I am game for it. Recreate 1846-1848 and follow it up with a civil war with the South separating to prosper while Yankeeland crashes and burns. And I was born in PA!
