Paxton is a physical Specimen who needs to work on fundamentals and football knowledge.
Paxton has POTENTIAL. We all knew he would have to ride the bench for at least a year if not more while he learns the pro game and develops his skill set. His career will determine if he can develop that skill level before frustration sets in. Gets pushed into starting role too quickly and his confidence could be shattered.
I don't know about shattering his confidence. Dude is confident. Look at what he did as a frosh - pushing out the piano man. Made some big plays, but took his lumps. Lots of naysayers out there. Never shook him. And look how far he came. Dude is still tracking the right way. He could play next year. Best not to, though - and probably won't. Another 3 years on the trajectory of the past 3, and he'll dominate.

Did you happen to see how his demeanor was after the game against Auburn. He is going to take his lumps for a while. His success is going to be determined by how quickly he can forget the last play and be ready for the next. If you recall he did not play a complete 4 quarters of good ball in any game after the game at Tulsa.

Uhhhh.
The very next week after Tulsa game he set a NCAA record for 7 TD passes in in one game.

Gah! Could you be more of a wet blanket? No one here is worshiping at the altar of Paxton, but we're allowed to be fans in our support of him. You douse any optimism you see for sh!ts and giggles. Please, kindly stay out of any and all future threads RE Lynch.

That was SMU and it was 7 TD's in one half.
I have wondered with Paxton being a Florida kid if the cold bothered him. He didn't seem to play well in cold weather. Of course, in general the games were harder.

There is some truth to what Nascarguy says, but that is due to the offense being so simplistic. Once good coaches began to scheme to what we were doing there were really no adjustments made.
Paxton will be starting this upcoming season some time sooner rather than later. As a NFL guy pointed out with that Denver defense, the o-line, the running game already in place with CJ including a steal in getting Devontae Booker along with big WRs in Sanders and Thomas, all you need is an competent QB thats not going to turn the ball over too much.
He added that Paxton skill set fits the Kubiak system to a 'T' and that's why they got him. He said don't be surprise if he puts the hard work in this off-season in learning the system that eventually he will be named the starter sometime during the season

Would be awesome to see this happen! Sanchez isn't All That and should Mark start slumping mid season it could happen
Plus an injury to Sanchez could thrust Pax right into the mix
So cool to be able to follow a Tiger QB in the NFL
No offense to other Tigers who made it but there's just something a little more special about having it be a QB. It sheds so much more attention to our college for future recruiting etc

I believe the 7 TD's actually tied the NCAA record. But Pax completed 7 TD's to 7 different receivers. It's hard to see that record EVER falling!
But as a Tiger fan, I have NEVER felt sorry for a Tiger opponent, except for that game. Pax looked like "that kid" who's head and shoulders above the rest in peewee football that day.
And you could be right about Pax and cold weather, but I hope not. Denver.
