I'm no Notre Dame expert, but it seems to me like they have never wanted to be in the B1G and with the deal the ACC has given them I don't see that opinion changing.

Notre Dame has an unbelievable deal with NBC and the ACC - one that is unable to be matched by any other major conference. They get to be in a conference with Duke, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Miami and Boston College - all institutions they value and in locations of the country with strong ND alumni bases. They get scheduling flexibility to allow them to continue the Shamrock Series, the Stanford/USC/Navy series, and get to keep their NBC contract to televise those games.

There may be yet another dramatic shift with collegiate realignment, but Notre Dame will not be the school that lights the fuse. If they join the B1G (or any other major conference) it will be because the status quo has changed. They won't do anything because they have the perfect situation right now.

Frankly speaking he is just trying to be noticed because since he has been with FOX he has dropped off the radar screen fairly severely.

Once again, talks of an ACC Network is coming out and people on this board are STILL ignoring it. That's so awesome.

Sounds like Swofford contacted Brando and Brando walked back the Notre Dame speculation but stuck by his ACC Network Intel.

I don't know, JR. He used to be a sports anchor here in Baton Rouge way back in the day, and was the biggest LSU and SEC shill I ever saw/heard.

He may have changed since then, but he was a huge SEC homer back then.

Can Notre Dame contractually join the B1G in football now even if they wanted to? IIRC, their ACC agreement says that until 2025 or somesuch, if they join a conference for football it has to be the ACC ...

That's correct. ND signed the ACC GOR, and there was either an additional contract or language in the GOR stating that if ND were to join a conference for football prior to the end of the GOR, it has to be the ACC.
