My CARNAC prediction is

Cinci & BYU

Impact
- Cinci goes, the AAC brings in NIU to the West and Navy moves to the East.
- Marshall bolts to MAC for more money.
- CUSA stays at 13. Praying EMU will fold and another team will leave to get to 12.

Finally putting a steak in the heart of realignment until the next CFP contract.

04-cheers

Navy chose to be in the AAC West, so they'd stay in the West.

I have no idea, but will guess that Texas will ultimately balk at merging the LHN, extending the GOR or expanding with G5 schools.

Cincy and UConn/Memphis to the Big 12
Big 12 beefs up the Basketball side with additions. Cincy and UConn/Memphis (as any G5 school would) football improves by leaps with the Big 12 tag.

AAC stands pat at 10 for a year before taking a CUSA School or two. Or AF is convinced to join Navy in the AAC west

CUSA depending on the TV contract, stays at 12...unless they need 14 for TV purposes, or if UAB doesn't get the Football back on track in which NMSU fills the other west division spot if no UAB (w/12 teams) or part of 14 teams.

BYU still stays Indy for a while before dropping football and becomes like the other WCC schools.

SB no changes (10 teams)

MW no changes (NMSU if AF joins Navy in the AAC)

PAC/SEC/ACC/Big 10 no changes.

I like your picks but like the Marshall poster said, Navy specifically asked to be in the East so it's very unlikely they'll move.

Fresno State/SDSU to B12. Too many TV sets to ignore. CA has about 40 million people and only one P5 conference (Florida has 2, Texas has 2 and CA is nearly equal, people wise, to both combined), the PAC12. While SDSU still needs to flesh out their long-term stadium situation, Fresno State has B12 like facilities.

I'll go with this one. Texas is gonna do what Texas wants to do, not what's in the best interest for the rest of the B12.

Not happening. We align with southern schools more than northern.

I say the Big XII stands pat. This makes Oklahoma and Kansas mad the BIG 10 expands with them. Then everyone leaves the Big XII leaving TCU, Tech, Baylor; and Texas holding the bag just like USF, UC and UCONN were left to hold the BIG EAST bag. Now schools are left to join the Texas 4 or join the ones who left.

Big 12 invites Navy (football only), Cincinnati, BYU, SDSU, and Gonzaga!

Navy and BYU bring in national audiences and P5 and rivalry matchups to the Big 12 contract: Notre Dame and Army/Utah, Boise St., and PAC matchups.

Cincinnati helps with the WVU-island and boosts Big 12 presence and recruiting in Ohio and the Midwest. Also provides stronger Eastern time zone presence.

SDSU allows another game in the Pacific primetime slot and more PAC matchups. Plus, enhances Big 12 access to California recruiting, with only the PAC as primary competition.

Gonzaga balances out the Olympic sports with Navy as a football only member. Cincinnati, Gonzaga, SDSU, and BYU help to establish the Big 12 as the premier college basketball conference.

Although the LHN actually sees moderate growth, the Big 12 network quickly expands and features Coast-to-Coast programming.

Big 12 champion reaches the CFP for the next 6 straight years, with Big 12 schools also participating in the Cotton and Fiesta Bowls each year.

I'm pretty sure this is a joke but I'll bite. A lot of big 12 fans don't even want to expand west for BYU because they don't want to stretch over 3 time zones. Plus the big 12 wants to pick up a school closer to WVU. I think Cincy is a shoe in, but 12 is hard to say.

My vote is Cincy and Memphis. I wouldn't mind BYU, but i just haven't heard about them lately.
