Thanks for posting. I'm trying to figure out how we had 49 OOC games last year (11 teams x 4 OOC should be 44) I know ULM got 1 extra for playing Hawaii, can anyone help me understand the others? EDIT: Bowl Games, DUH!!!!

Swing Games: Would be a big step up from previous seasons if we could win 9 or 10 of these.

App vs Miami
App vs ODU
stAte vs Toledo
stAte @ Utah St.
GS @ W. Mich
GS @ GT
GaSt vs Ball St.
GaSt @ Air Force
Idaho vs UNLV
NMSU @ UTEP
NMSU vs New Mexico
USA vs San Diego St.
TxSt @ Ohio
Troy @ Southern Miss
Troy vs UMass
UL vs Boise
UL @ Tulane
ULM @ New Mexico

Most of our other match-ups are pretty easy to pick. I will have my eyes on a few other games as well. GaSt and Idaho have match-ups with decent FCS teams that could go south if they aren't careful. If Wisconsin sucks this season and GaSt's transfer QB is the savior they are looking for then that game could get interesting. Other than that it's mostly P5 matchups against top 25 teams or blowout wins against FCS or really crappy G5 teams.

Troy has a great shot at a 3-1 OOC record

Austin peay and UMass we will likely be favored in.

This season will be the greatest chance for Troy to get to a bowl in many years. Very favorable schedule.

I'm not sure about saying we'll for sure beat Toledo at home and then have a maybe for Utah State on the road. Toledo is better than Utah State...what makes the Utah State game tough is we have to travel.

RE: The Probably Too Early SB OOC Record Prediction Thread
SBC OOC game of the year: Tie (Miami @ App State/Toledo @ Arkansas State)
The Mountaineers by all accounts seem to be the early favorites for the SBC title and they have HUGE opportunity to make national noise by taking down Mark Richt and the Hurricane.

The reigning champs Arkansas State on the flip side can send a strong message to the funbelt that they're ready to defend their title with a impressive victory over a very strong G5 program Toledo (bonus: not to mention knock off the monkey off their back and right the last 2 beatings they've taken from Toledo)

Toughest OOC Schedule: South Alabama
This was a tough call to make between south al, Texas state and ULM but to me Jags have got it a wee bit rougher taking on two prominent SEC west teams on the road and hosting the mountain west champions.

Weakest OOC schedule: Georgia State
Playing Wisconsin will suck, and Air Force is an intriguing opponent but both ball state and ut-Martin don't do anything for me on the excitement match up level.

Best chance of going undefeated in OOC: Arkansas State
Now before I'm accused of being a homer, just look at the schedule-only one money game at Auburn and the Wheels seem to be falling off the Gus bus down on the plains; Toledo should be tough once again but Red Wolves play tough at home, Utah State still has quite a bit of question marks going into the season and Astate (as well as any SBC team) should always expect to win against an FCS team.

If the dices can roll right in the circumstances, lala Troy and southern all have great chances at going 3-1 as already mentioned

Sneaky, under the radar OOC game I'm looking forward to: Montana state @ Idaho
Despite the news of the vandals dropping to the FCS in the next few seasons, make no mistake the vandals will be playing with a chip on their shoulders; I would bet Idaho will be wanting to send a message to the belt and the big sky with their match up against soon to be (once again) conference football foes the Bobcats (but on the flip side Montana state won't let Idaho push them around easily)

That's how I see it too; I also wish would beat lowly mcneese, but our record with in-state schools has not been too great lately. 03-banghead

In fact, I will not be very surprised if we loose to two Matt Viator teams this year. 03-banghead03-banghead

Hopefully I'm just being my overly pessimistic self and I am proved wrong on some of these.

I think people are underestimating our game @ Arkon, that could be a tough one. While ODU will be improved next year, I'd have to rank @ Akron as tougher than home vs. ODU. Surprised we didn't get any love for one of the toughest OOC schedules (clearly USA is tougher though).

Underestimating Akron? Why does that sound so fricking familiar? Lol

Akron is better than ODU. I think it's just because they've stunk historically that people think it's going to be easy.

That's my fault, for whatever reason every time I read Akron I thought "FCS team." Yeah that should be included in my swing game list.

We'll be up on Austin Peay 38-0 by halftime, and that's not an exaggeration after going up 48-14 and 45-7 at halftime vs ULM and NMSU last season. Austin Peay is a bottom ten FCS team that went 0-11 last season. UMass is rated 128th out of 128 FBS teams by the Orlando Sentinel. Likely over by halftime as well. Southern Miss is a toss up, but if we play with the intensity and execution we did vs the four teams we beat, we'll come home with a W.

11-2 App State may not have to worry about Akron as much as is being said. App and ULL are two very different ball clubs.

I think App should be a slight favorite, but on the road that isn't a sure win by any means if we're listing wins/loses/tossups for a cumulative W/L SBC OOC record.

Arkon won a bowl game last year and has a good coach.

I don't think we'll be favored against UNLV. Maybe if the game were in Moscow, but we're going to Vegas. We'll have a good chance to win that game but I bet we're getting a touchdown or so at kickoff.
