No, actually he was semi-complimentary. He is firmly of the belief that the Bearcats will be in the Big 12 within the next decade . Nothing else new. Finances keep the Bearcats out. Texas wants no part of us and the minions do not want to split up the playoff money. The author talked up the advantage of recruiting with the addition of Cincinnati and the gain of television footprint. I was gonna call and ask the author about Big 12 finances and the fact that they would gain close to 20 percent more inventory of football games with the addition of BYU and Cincinnati. And that our games on legitimate ESPN networks not ESPN News usually get between a 1.0 and 2.5. This is comparable to all mid-pack p5 conference teams and better than the cellar dwellars.

I think Ken got dragged by fans due to his ignorance he is looking for others that know more than he does.

I don't dislike Ken but he'd be better served not spending much time discussing CFB beyond reading the highlights.

I don't think that is true. I think this board has little patience with any sportscaster who doesn't seem to know his ass from second base.

I appreciate Broo attempting to talk about UC but I always get the impression the only local teams he actually prepares for are the Reds and Bengals.

And that is mostly the Reds.

Broo is completely lost anytime he talks any college sports, not just UC.

I've seen both bashed. I've even seen Mo Egger, biggest UC supporter in the local media, bashed on this board.

I'm no fan of Broo, but I guess my bigger local sportscaster pet peeve is Richard Skinner. A week or two ago he was on two different Sunday night tv sportscasts offering his "insight". What exactly is that guy knowledgeable about other than UK?

I did listen and he was very complimentary to the idea of UC being in the Big 12.

I would guess that the amount of times Broo is bashed on here, dwarfs such instances of Vogel, Popovich, and Mo, combined.

Here's how it goes down. Fans love sportscasters who say things we like to hear, and hate the guys who say things we pray is wrong.

My take is Broo is probably closer to the truth on expansion than any of us want to admit despite knowing it deep down.

We are likely in if the B12 expands. B12 may not want to expand any time soon, though. Therein lies the rub.

Longer we are talking about this, the better from Ono and Bohn's perspective. Once we come to grips as a fan base that this cruddy AAC thing is home, the gig is up and the funds dry up.

Despite Broo's ridiculous overreaction a couple years ago when I called him out on something, I generally think Broo's pretty good at his job. I just think he knows and cares very little about college sports, so when he talks about it he comes off clueless sometimes.

I didn't hear the broadcast. Clearly we know that Broo is focused first and foremost on the Reds and Bengals. With that said, I find it curious that he's talked conference expansion and UC on several shows now when that's clearly not top of mind for him. In the past, I've never felt he had inside sources @ UC. But since so much of the rest of the local media has fallen silent on this topic it does make me wonder if he's not being fed some information, leading him to keep the topic alive.
