In lacrosse news:

The Syracuse defense held the Heels scoreless in two quarters and won their semi-final 10-7 to advance to the championship against Dook (a 10-9 winner over Notre Dame).

The championship game is played tomorrow at noon.

Thanks Xlance,

I hear the championship game between Duke and SU was rained out and play had to stop until they can get into a new field. The game is supposed to finish tomorrow, What is this baseball?

Honest, I wasn't kidding.

Well that's great! Although I didn't expect an end to the game until tomorrow. But I'll take it.

3 hour lightning and rain delay, then we moved across the street to a practice field with turf.

SU scored 5 goals in the last 7 minutes once the game resumed.

Southern schools are not interested. I think most likely ACC will add Louisville and BC.

Not true. In Florida & Texas & California High School Lacrosse is an officially sanctioned sport. Title Nine will be the obstacle.

NCSU had a decent program in the early 80s. It was dropped because of Title IX. Despite the popularity of the sport in prep leagues, Yow (AD) has stated she has no interest in adding programs.

I would like to see Louisville add it. We have a woman's team & our men play at the club level now. For Title IX we would have to add another woman's team as well, gymnastics likely.
