RE: Saturday vs. Charlotte: Rubber Game
IMO it's not a true championship unless you're the #1 seed in the tournament!
The streak was already sullied several years ago when we lost the regular season championship to ECU.
Although improbable, we can't discount Marshall or LA Tech. Marshall is only 2 games back and has a pretty easy remaining schedule.

Sullied?? Surely you jest. Do tell who remembers that, or even cares. The championship streak still stands, and no other program in the country has come even remotely close to it.
I don't think anyone is discounting Marshall and certainly not LaTech, who has moved into the at large post-season discussion.

Obviously it is still very impressive and I said it half jokingly..
I do think the streak would be on shaky ground if we did not get #1 seed AND failed to win the conference tournament.

RE: Saturday vs. Charlotte: Rubber Game
After looking at Lamar's roster and stat sheet, I think we should go we Solecitto as starter on Wednesday, and perhaps, that's why The OG chose not to use him this weekend. Lamar can rake big time (albeit their stats are obviously a bit inflated by their #155 ranked SoS). They've hit 45 HRs, with another 98 doubles/triples, and 3 of their Top 5 sluggers are left-handed, including their leading hitter, Reid Russell (.381/.445/.725, 15 HRs, 51 RBIs). BTW, their roster is stocked full of JUCO and CC transfers, including three-quarters of their starting lineup, and 4 of their to 6 pitchers. The teams that have contained their bats have started southpaw pitching.

Has there been any talk of making up the rained out game at Lamar? At this point, I would guess not.

RE: Saturday vs. Charlotte: Rubber Game
They have finally given Otto the win in Saturday's game (and not Esquivel). Head scratcher why they gave it to Zach in the first place.
