I think the Rockets look for NBA experience for its next head coach, IMO.

I saw him mentioned in regards to the Lakers job. Probably a better fit for him in LA

The Rockets are a total mess. I can't see Ollie having much interest in that job. If the Lakers offered I'd be concerned, but I am expecting/hoping they go with Walton.

Luke Walton seems like a no-brainer hire for the Lakers.

The Rockets are a total mess but the Lakers aren't?

We are renegotiating his contract. I hope retires from UH.

I hope so too but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Good point. Should have mentioned the fact Ollie is from Crenshaw being the difference there.

No gig is a perfect fit even if all pieces are already in place... The Rockets has plenty good enough talent to do well in the playoffs and look what happened to McHale

Chances are most of that talents leaves though, no? I'm not a big nba guy but Howard is definitely gone and harden may be...according to my xm morning drive guys. Regardless with those players hitting the market that's a tough position to be hiring a coach.

Rumor here has it Harden and Howard have runout their welcome... You could be right, the Rockets may find themselves with almost no talent for next season.

The Rockets won big in spite of McHale, not because of him. I'll go as far to say that it all started going downhill when Sampson left. McHale and Harden carried it for some time but it all finally ran out of gas this season.

I like and am glad Sampson is UH's HC, don't get me wrong... I think you're wrong that Sampson leaving is why the Rockets went downhill. Sure, Sampson and Harden had a good relationship and respected each other greatly but let's not misremember Harden's defense and Howard's offense stinks so bad is not even funny.

I think Sampson saw first hand what was headed the Rockets way and why he chose to leave when he did... I say Harden and Howard are to blame for the Rockets poor results.
