It would seem to me from reading the NCAA rule regarding the NBA draft that DL has lost his eligibility to play college BB. Am I missing something?

I'm certainly not suggesting this inquiry should intervene in an AD doing his job - or to tell him how to do his job - although there is a lot of that around here and it doesn't stop with the AD job. I'm simply attempting to understand the rules as they currently exist & would prefer to read & understand the rule rather than get someone's opinion. Generally that's more to the point of a forum's purpose, I would think, rather than making judgements. This is simply an inquiry into finding & understanding the rules that govern eligibility in the circumstance that our university now finds its itself related to DL. We've seen as recently as this week that G. Parrish (a paid "expert") didn't know the very rule he was writing about concerning KL as an assistant. So it seemed better to me, to just read the rules governing eligibility in the DL circumstance in order to understand it rather than rely upon someone's opinion. With all the experts here, I assumed I'd get a NCAA rule reference quickly.

Yep Lawson is ineligible as is Kentucky's entire roster.... you can test the waters now and come back as long as you don't sign an agent

Not saying I'm right or wrong, but I've always thought, as long as DL doesn't hire an agent, he has a certain time to (sometime in May) declare what his intentions are. At least that's what I've always heard.

Have heard that too, just trying to find the NCAA rule or even the NCAA announcement of the rule change that supports what seems to be the obvious answer.

Thanks, appreciate the effort. Just what I was looking for, since it doesn't appear the NCAA is keeping their announcement page up to date.
