actual mechanics of hiring process and contracts usually take a while to be formalized.

I'm guessing that if a waiver doesn't go through, roles could still be adjusted

I can understand message board people not knowing about a new rule, but it's literally his job to know about college basketball, and he writes an article on this particular subject without looking into it enough to know about a new rule?

Based on the wording of the rules we are in trouble. Keelon was hired in July of 2014. Which is during the Summer Semester. Spring Semester does not end until Wednesday. So Keelon will not be at the U of M for two academic years until the Summer Semester.

Takes a lot to get a school put on probation before you even coached your first game just so you can hire your own son.

My guess is that the the administration petitioned for the rule change before Tubby was even hired... Maybe even before Josh left...
